Special instructions while our school is closed due to the mandated school closure by Governor Wolf:
The Lebanon School District is currently closed consistent with the Governor’s Emergency Declaration issued in response to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. During this mandated closure, Lebanon School District may not be able to respond to requests for public records under the Pennsylvania Right-to-Know Law. The Office of Open Records (OOR) has advised that when a public entity is closed, that day is not a “business day” and does not count toward the five business days referenced in Section 901 of the RTKL, which governs the time period under which an agency must respond to a request. Consequently, Lebanon School District will process requests once it reopens. Further, unless you have an urgent need to access public records, please do not file any new RTK requests at this time. If submitting a request is necessary, please seek copies of records (preferably electronic) rather than in-person inspection. In-person inspection of records will not be possible during the current closure. Thank you for your patience during this unprecedented time.

Though an oral request for access to records can be made, if you wish to pursue the relief and remedies provided by the Right-to-Know Law, the request for access to records must be made in writing. A written request for access to records may be submitted in person, by mail, by e-mail, or by facsimile to the Open-Records Officer.
A records request form must be used to request records. To access this form, go to: http://openrecords.state.pa.us and then choose RTKLForms. A hard copy of this form may also be provided by the Open-Records Officer upon request.

Appeals and Office of Open Records Contact Information
If a written request for access to a record is denied or deemed denied, the requester may file an appeal with the Office of Open Records within fifteen (15) business days of the mailing date of the District’s response or within fifteen (15) business day of a deemed denial. The appeal shall state the grounds upon which the requester asserts that the record is a public record, and shall address any grounds stated by the District for delaying or denying the request.
